FYI, please note that the majority of the Cuba programs have closed or cancelled for early June. If anyone is looking to travel to Cuba this year before September, the following programs have availability:

·         The People and Culture of Cuba by Yacht - #22650 – 6/10/16-6/18/16 (will stay open until the end of April since they are not bound by the Cuba hotel issue)

Please also note that the reverse itinerary for #20437: Cuba Today: People and Society will be opening tomorrow for dates that have already filled to 20 pax. This year the reverse itineraries will have a different program number. This one is #22461:  Cuba Today: People and Society: Cienfuegos to Havana. If you are looking for a specific date for 20437 and you see that it is filled or almost filled, look for #22461 and find the same date for added availability. 

News on Cuba Cruise

- contingency plan didn`t quite work out as planned

- ship is still in `jail`

- once ship is out of `jail`, RS could start running potentially 5 day trips out of Miami.  

- 200 person ship

- there will probably be dates opened soon due to this and as they are ship based the time for the Visa is the only time delay

Cruising:

- popular trip 

Trade Show in Long Beach

- leads have indicated they will be attending and visiting the RS booth

- free gift certificate draw, catalog list building

Notable, less then one quarter switched to a land based program.  Due to the time constraints, switching from a March Cruise date to an Apr, May or June land programs.  Many went to Nov or Dec (fall dates).  

There is a Cruise wait list for those interested.

Cruises in Fall and Winter, not really set yet for next year.  Fully expect we will be offering this but first we need to secure the ship.

Future Quotes

******for any lead that wants to take a cruise for a non published future date.  Transfer these leads so that they go on a list and will receive an automatic email once the intended date is set for the trip.

Cycling Tours

*******also on the agenda, hiking and cycling tours are on the table for discussion.  Very light traffic in Cuba, great place for biking and hiking, most travel via bus.

Are the streets overrun with wild dogs....no, there are the few strays, but not an over abundance.
